President’s Message – July 2026

  • July 2026
  • John Peterson, President, Hobe Sound Chamber of Commerce, Edward Jones – Hobe Sound

As we head into the heart of summer, I want to take a moment to reflect on a very active and engaging June for our Hobe Sound Chamber and look ahead to what’s coming next.

We held a fantastic June Chamber Breakfast at Miles Grant Country Club. A special thank you goes out to our sponsors, Angela and Jay Kacprowicz from Guaranteed Garage Door & Repair, for their continued support of our business community. We were also fortunate to have AJ Fasano from Operate Bigger as our speaker, who shared practical and insightful ways businesses can leverage AI to work smarter, save time, and grow more efficiently while allowing business owners more time to support and engage within the community we call home. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make it such a successful and valuable morning.

As usual, our Business After Hours events are always a favorite at the Hobe Sound Chamber—even during the summer months. Those who joined us for our June Business After Hours at Florida Classics Books & Gifts had a great time. It was a wonderful way to kick off the summer season, giving members the opportunity to network and experience a truly unique local business. Florida Classics, a publisher and distributor of Florida books for over 50 years, offered an inviting setting filled with books covering everything from shipwreck salvages and nature to Florida’s rich history. Guests enjoyed food from the Steggs Food Truck, along with drinks and a fun evening of connection.

Lastly, I would like to highlight an important community event that the Chamber is proud to bring forward — our recent Candidate Forum. This event provided an opportunity for community members and the public to hear directly from candidates across several key races, including Martin County Commission, Martin County School Board, City of Stuart Commission, Florida State Representative Districts 85 and 86, and U.S. Congressional District 21. Most importantly, the forum was designed as a structured, non-debate setting, allowing attendees to meet candidates, hear their perspectives, and engage in a meaningful way. We’re proud to offer these opportunities that help keep our community informed and connected.

For July upcoming events, be sure to join us for Networking opportunities, including our Breakfast on July 9th at the American Legion Post 62 celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary, as well as our next Business After Hours on July 29th at The Salty Pelican. These events continue to be a great way to stay engaged, support our local businesses, and strengthen the relationships that make Hobe Sound so special.

As always, thank you for your continued involvement and support. I encourage everyone to get out, stay connected, and continue supporting our local Chamber restaurants and businesses—your support truly makes a difference in keeping our community strong and thriving, particularly during the summer season.

I look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events!

John Peterson,
President, Hobe Sound
Chamber of Commerce,
Edward Jones – Hobe Sound
